City of Paris - Travel Information

French capital, City of Paris, is divided in 20 districts or neighborhoods. They are numbered from 1 to 20 in spiral form, so it is easy to get around. This districts are called arrondissements. The best way to explore Paris is to get Paris Museum Pass (don’t forget that French currency is euro). With this card tourists have access to most museums and monuments. Getting around is easy by public transport (bus, train, RER – suburban express railway), by taxis, bicycles, boats. It is good to know that some museums are closed between 5 and 6pm and usually on Monday and Tuesday. It is better to be informed in advance about the opening hours. If you want to have a nice lunch, be ready to spend about 70 euros. Parisian restaurants are usually very expensive.
